Building Families is about creating more opportunities to find permanent families for children and youth who are still waiting.

During the session, social workers can present non-identifying profiles of children and youth for whom it has been difficult to find the right adoptive family to approved adoptive families from across New Brunswick — not only families in the child’s region.

Attendance is limited to approved adoptive families who are actively waiting to be matched.

Why consider presenting a profile?

• Bring greater visibility to a child or youth for whom it has been difficult to find the right family.

• Share their story and needs with approved, waiting adoptive families from across the province.

• Help families better understand the child beyond what they may initially see in a written profile.

• Reach potential families outside the child’s region who may not otherwise have had an opportunity to learn about them.

We’ve seen previous sessions generate interest in children and youth for whom social workers had been having difficulty finding potential families.

For now, there’s no form to complete.

1. Do you have a child or youth you may be interested in presenting?

2. Would you prefer to present their profile in English or French?

You don’t need to have all the details ready or make a final commitment yet.
